SURVEY TRAILER LASHING

Project Summary

For the demobilization of the multi-wheel trailers by barge from Oakland, CA to Vancouver, WA, in September 2006, Argonautics Marine Engineering, Inc. was hired to survey the lashings. The 2 sets of trailers, weighing approximately 450 t combined, were lowered onto cribbing blocks and lashed down to D-rings on the barge deck, using 4 inch chains and turnbuckles. Chocks were secured on either side of the outer wheels. The trailer engines were covered with tarps. The lashing of a container and some additional items stowed on the barge were also surveyed.
