MOTION RESPONSES FOR DRY TOW OF TRIDENT IV

Project Summary

The Transocean owned jack-up rig TRIDENT IV was dry towed from Angola to the Zadar Yard in Croatia on the semi-submersible
cargo barge ZHONG REN 3. The rig carried legs with a length of 125 m (410 ft) each. An independent barge motion response
analysis demonstrated that the design accelerations resulted in leg bending moments which were still within the maximum allowable
moments. After a successful loading and seafastening operation, the barge departed Angola on May 24, 2004.
